The Great Tulip Trade

~Summary~

Anna is a main character in this book. She loved tulips. However, in Holland in 1636, everyone loved tulips so that made them worth more than gold and diamonds!
One spring morning, Anna saw her father cutting tulips because people wanted the bulbs the most. Unfortunately, the day was Anna's birthday so she was very sad. Therefore, her father let her choose 8 tulips for Anna's birthday present.
Anna chose two red ones. Then, two yellow ones. Next, a purple one, a pink-and-white-striped one and a red one with yellow. Last, she chose her favorite tulip which was the rarest tulip of all, the Semper Augustus.

After she came back her house, she planted them in a window box.

After that a farmer came to her house and asked her trade for tulips with his sheep and cows. First, she refused the offer but she rethought that her family would please so she gave 2 tulips for the farmer.
A while later, a peddler and his wife came to her house and asked her trade for tulips with their some pots, pans and a warm wool rug. First, she refused the offer but she rethought that her family would please so she gave 2 tulips for them.

At noon, an artist came to her house with walking and asked her trade for tulips with his nice picture. When she saw it, she thought she would be able to trade so they did.

Soon a man pulled up a wagon with many furniture. The man asked her trade for tulips with his some furniture. First, she refused the offer but she rethought that her family would please so she gave 2 tulips for him.

Suddenly, a coach pulled up and a woman shouted that she wanted the rare tulip. The woman said she would give much money and jewelry so please it.

However, Anna didn't trade the rare tulip absolutely. The reason why she did, she thought that it was a gift from her father so it worth more to her than anything else.

~Impression~

I think Anna is a very kind girl because she has a sympathetic attitude. In fact, she didn't want to trade her all tulips but she thought about her family so she did.

In my opinion, it is a very difficult decision for her.

However, she didn't trade the last rare tulip. I think it is good idea because she kept her most important thing.

This book told me one important feeling.
